Santa Ana, Calif. — ITT Interconnect Solutions has developed a miniature audio connector family designated as the Mini-XL series. The circular device series features quick one-touch connect/disconnect and is designed to withstand extreme field use.
Aimed at higher quality compact audio applications in video, broadcast and recording, the Mini-XL audio connectors are 40% smaller than industry standard XLR connectors.
Available with 3- to 6-pin contact arrangements, the RoHS-compliant connectors are designed to accommodate both cable and panel-mount applications. A durable socket insulator minimizes vibration and electrical noise.
The Mini-XL connector features a disconnect latch lock, gold-plated contacts and a low reflectivity satin finish. The rear housing (cap) is available in plastic or metal for both male and female plugs. Suitable for high-density applications, the connectors are specified for use in TV cameras, mixers/recording equipment, microphones, amplifiers/speakers, medical instruments, industrial control devices and test equipment.
Pricing: Ranges from $4 to $6 for the Mini-XL male and female plugs, with typical pricing for the panel-mount components ranging from $5 to $7, in quantities of 500.
