Audium appoints Chris Travis as Chief Technology Officer

Winchester, UK - Audium Semiconductor (Bristol, UK) has appointed Chris Travis as the company as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Travis brings more than 25 years of audio engineering experience to his new role at Audium. His experience includes eight years at the BBC and 14 years at the consultancy, Sonopsis, where Chris was Technical Director. Chris has a first class honours degree (BA) and masters (MA) from Cambridge University.

Audium's cofounder Huw Davies, said he was delighted with the appointment. Davies added: ""Chris' appointment illustrates the company's commitment to further the development of its ultra-low-power audio amplifiers. Chris brings a unique mix of skills that, we believe, will help us stay several steps ahead of the competition."

Commenting on his new role, Travis said, "I am very excited to be joining Audium at this early stage. We have a unique technology offering with the potential to make a huge impact in the audio electronics sector and deliver products that are truly different."

Audium's audio power amplifier integrated circuits claim to be 20 times more power efficient than competing technologies at normal listening levels and enable the development of totally wireless speakers, home theatre surround sound speakers and battery-powered travel speakers. Audium's ICs also support MP3 docking stations and USB powered speakers.
