Belgian analog and mixed signal IC design house AnSem is to work with asic specialist Kawasaki Microelectronics America (K-micro) to develop chipsets for the home networking market. The first product scheduled for delivery is an Analog Front End chip. "By teaming up with AnSem, K-micro will be able to bring chipsets that enable higher performance, lower cost home networking products to market more quickly," said Tommy Aizawa, VP of Strategic Marketing at K-micro. Added Jan Crols, CTO of AnSem: "AFEs are used in virtually all home network devices. They are state of the art mixed-signal circuits that require a highly skilled development team and an advanced tool flow." This is a well-proven partnership, as AnSem has previously designed a 2.5 to 3.125 Gb/s multi-standard SerDes PHY for K-micro.
